Sprint 4T Enduro edges
Rider for second victory

Sprint 4T beat Sprint 4t Rider, 76-69, for its second victory in the 35 and above category of the Fil-Sino Petron Cup 2016 at Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym Monday night.

Sprint 4T Enduro raced to a 38-23 halftime lead as Michael Ang and Stephen Tan fired 9 points each while Matt Deles fired 14 points all in the second quarter for the Rider.

Ang and Ren Ren Lacson combined for 15 points in the third quarter as Enduro enjoyed a 59-39 advantage .

Enduro had a poor start in the fourth quarter as Rider cut the lead to 9 points behind the trio of Mark Binguan, Matt Deles and Bobil Alagaban, who scored 10, 9 and 7 points respectively in the quarter.

Lacson and Xerxes Jaranilla responded with timely baskets to extend the lead to double digit in the fourth quarter.

Rider's gamble to foul Enduro in the final minutes paid off as the free throw misses led to several conversions that cut the lead to 5 points with 25 seconds left left in the game.

But time was not on Rider's side as they absorbed their second loss in the tournament.

Ang made six triples to lead Enduro with 21 points while Lacson added 18, Jaranilla had 6 points, Chibon Uy and Ritchie Militante with 5 points each.

Deles had a game-high 25 points in a losing effort, Alagaban tallied 16, Binguan shot 12 points, Jake Bilbao with 6 points, and and Atong Villanueva had 5 points.

In the 35-and- below category, Yan Yan Dy sizzled for 29 points to lead REV-X All Terrain past Ultron Extra, 95-76.

Luigi Coo fired 13 points to give Ultron Extra a promising start with a 24-18 opening quarter advantage.

But Yan yan Dy scored 10 points and Dirk Dongon had 9 to put All Terrain ahead at the half at 44-35 even as Sean wee scored 10 of the 11 points for Extra.

All Terrain pulled away in the third quarter as Dy added 9 more markers and Jappy Cuayconga scored 5 points for a commanding 74-52 lead.

Allen Dionela and Luigi Coo made five triples between them to conspire for 19 points , but Dy continued to shine with 10 points to seal the win for All Terrain.

Backstopping Dy were Jappy Cuaycong with 15 points, Dirk Dongon 13, Yap and Kenderson had 8 points each and Andy Tio, 6 points.

Luigi Coo finished with 23 points for Ultron Extra as Dionela added 18, Wee hit 16 points and Bren Tajonera chipped in 5 points.*
