Bing plans to retain cop chief
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said yesterday that he plans to retain Senior Supt. Flynn Dongbo as director of the Bacolod City Police Office.

Leonardia said that if Dongbo's name will be included in the short list presented to him, he plans to let him stay as a regular police director of Bacolod City.

Meanwhile, Leonardia said he is one with President Rodrigo Duterte in considering illegal drugs as one of the most serious threats to the society as he has known people whose lives have been destroyed by the illegal substance.

He has already reminded Dongbo to intensify their campaign against it. The police director is aware of this, and he believes he already has plans on how to address the problem, he said.

Leonardia said he supports the efforts of the Philippine National Police and other law enforcement units in pursuing after illegal drugs will continue.

If law enforcers apply the directive of the President as regards to illegal drugs, he believes it will be good for their future, he said.

If policemen have records of campaigning against illegal drugs it will enhance their credentials and will given them better chances of getting promoted, Leonardia added.*CGS
