Volunteers repaint
government center
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The Bacolod City Government Center is getting repainted for the first time since it was constructed in 2008.

About 50 members of the Negros Kabarkada Painters Association Inc. volunteered their services for free to repaint the façade and the lobby of the Bacolod City Government Center during the weekend in preparation for the inauguration of the new set of Bacolod City officials on July 6.

The paint used was also donated by Davies Paint.

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia, had earlier said presumptive Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel has accepted their invitation to be the guest speaker during their inauguration on Wednesday, while Senator Manny Pacquiao will be the solemnizing officer.

Leonardia said Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya will be joining them while City Administrator John Orola will officially invite other councilors belonging to MKK so they will have one inauguration.

Other city officials are Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Councilors Cano Tan, Caesar Distrito, Cindy Rojas, Renecito Novero, Bart Orola, Dindo Ramos, Elmer Sy and Em Ang, all of Grupo Progreso.

The MKK Councilors are Claudio Puentevella, Sonya Verdeflor, Wilson Gamboa Jr. and Ana Marie Palermo.*CGS
