The Philippine National Police has appointed new officers-in-charge of the Negros Occidental and Bacolod police offices effective Saturday, Chief Supt. Conrado Capa, acting regional director of Negros Island Region Police Regional Office, confirmed yesterday.

Senior Supt. William Señoron has been appointed head of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office in place of Senior Supt. Samuel Nacion, Capa said.

Senior Supt. Flynn Dongbo replaced Senior Supt. Melchor Coronel as head of the Bacolod City Police Office, Capa added.moremoremore

Bizman threatens to
kill self, gives up

A Filipino-Chinese businessman fired his gun three times and threatened to kill himself at JAK Fitness Gym, which he partly owns, at Burgos-Lacson streets in Bacolod City, Saturday afternoon.

The negotiation lasted for almost four hours before Kerwin Yao, 45, of Barangay Villamonte in Bacolod, who was threatening to kill himself, finally surrendered, a police report said.

Yao reportedly entered the gym before noon, and started firing his gun at about 1 p.m. at the boxing area. Nobody was in the gym and the instructors were having their siesta.moremoremore

Noreco 2 to install on-site
renewable energy facility

Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative 2 will install an on-site renewable energy facility such as solar, wind, biomass and biogas energy systems so they can generate electricity for their own consumption.

General manager Dinefred Macahig in a press release said the electric cooperative is mandated under Republic Act 9513, otherwise known as the Renewable Energy Act of 2008, the net metering is an electricity policy that allows customers of distribution utilities.

Macahig said the capacity of the renewable energy facility should not exceed 100 kilowatts.moremoremore
