A former policeman, arrested in 2014 for illegal possession of drugs in Victorias City, was again apprehended yesterday by a combined team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and local police in Silay City, Negros Occidental, for a similar violation.
Former Police Officer 1 Reylan Dordas was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Hacienda Tinijaban, Brgy. Hawaiian, Silay City, Chief Inspector Edencio Gregorio, Silay deputy police chief, said yesterday.
Gregorio said the arrest of Dordas, who used to be a member of the Capiz Police Provincial Office, yielded two sachets of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money.
The sachets contained about 6 grams of shabu estimated to cost P20,000, Intelligence Agent 2 James Afuang of PDEA said.
Gregorio said Dordas had been ordered dismissed from the service by the Ombudsman. A resident of Manapla town, he filed an appeal against his dismissal from the PNP, Gregorio added.
He also said that Dordas has been included in the drug watch list of the Manapla and Victorias City Police Stations.
In July 1, 2014, Dordas, who was still an active member of the PNP, was arrested by a police team headed by Supt. Santiago Rapiz during a saturation drive at Bangga Daan in Victorias Cioty, for illegal possession of firearms and drugs.
His arrest yielded a sachet of shabu and a homemade .38 caliber revolver, police records show.
