BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

A barangay kagawad of Kalamtukan in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, survived a shooting incident at around 1:15 p.m. yesterday in Sitio Calumpang, Barangay Kalumbuyan, of the city, perpetrated by still unidentified persons, a police report said.

The victim was identified as Renante Libradilla Cadayday, 33, married. He was brought to a hospital. No immediate details of the shooting were made available late yesterday, Senior Supt. Harris Fama, officer-in-charge of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, said.

He added he cannot yet say for sure if the shooting was politically-motivated, and related to the May 9 elections.

He said he is still waiting for a progress report from the police chief of Bayawan City.*JFP
