Ceres FC, Selangor FA
ready for tough game

Football followers in this part of the country will be treated to an exciting and tough game when home team Ceres La Salle FC tangle with the visiting Selangor FA Red Giants from Malaysia in the 2016 AFC Cup Group E Qualifier, at the Panaad Stadium 7 tonight.

Both teams are coming into the match fully prepared and ready to give their best.

In a press conference yesterday, Ceres La Salle FC coach Franklin Muescan said the Malaysian team is on a higher level compared to them in terms of exposure but they have a game plan which they have been working on for the past months.

Boxers off to US camp

In pursuit of the Olympic dream and international glory, a 20-man delegation from the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) is leaving tomorrow for a three-week training tour of the US West Coast.

Stops in Olympic training facilities located in Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles are scheduled for the 14 ABAP boxers and five coaches, said ABAP executive director Ed Picson, who will head the boxing contingent seeking slots in the Asia-Oceania Qualifying Tournament in Qan' An, China from March 23 to April 3.

Only one boxer from each weight category will be chosen.

AACI Trading upsets Royal Star
to improve quarterfinal chances

AACI Trading turned back Royal Star Trading, 74-70, to grab its second win and improve their quarterfinals chances in the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Inter-Company Basketball Tournament at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

The setback dampened Royal Star's aspirations for the No. 2 spot as they absorbed their third defeat after eight games.

Silver Dragon Transport routed JSY Countertrade, 99-78, to finish the elimination round at 6-2 and land at second spot. Silver Dragon also enjoys a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals, while JSY Countertrade dropped to 4-3.
