That was how Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte capped his almost two hour speech before 2,000 supporters at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City yesterday, where he vowed to wage a vigorous nationwide campaign against crime, drugs and corruption, and to save the sugar industry, should he win the presidency.
Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, PDP Laban presidential candidate, yesterday apologized to Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra for his foul mouth and for taking the name of the Pope in vain.
"Monsignor, I am Rodrigo Duterte, a Catholic , I was the one who took the name of the Pope in vain and I have asked the forgiveness of everybody. I came here to specifically also ask for your forgiveness," Duterte said, during a courtesy call on the prelate at the Bishop's House in Bacolod City.

Hospital equipment, worth P67 million, will be turned over by the Department of Health to the provincial government of Negros Oriental Saturday.
Gov. Roel Degamo said that DOH Secretary Janette Garin will lead in the turnover of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging that was requested by the province, for its modern Central Block Building at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital.
