Volleyball referees all over the country will gather at Foundation University in Dumaguete City for the 2016 PVF National Referees' Congress and Accreditation starting today until Saturday.
The three-day event, spearheaded by the Philippine Volleyball Federation, aims to upgrade and update volleyball referees on the latest FIVB rules and its interpretation and application, PVF official Roger Banzuela said.
Knowing the latest FIVB rules will better prepare the referees for future competitions, he added.
Expected to attend the national congress in Dumaguete City are referees under the different volleyball associations and local governments from the different regions in the country. Banzuela said.
Co-organizing the event along with the PVF Referees' Commision is the Negros Occidental Volleyball Association, while the Negros Oriental Referees Volleyball Association collaborates with FU and the city government of Dumaguete for the hosting duties.
To join in the congress, Banzuela a participant must be a PFV accredited referee who have been actively officiating for at least two years.
A registration fee of P2,500 will be charged for every participant.*
