JSY Transport stuns
Basecom in Fil-Sino

JSY Transport overcame a 22-point deficit to shock Basecom, 78-77, in the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Inter-Company Basketball tournament Friday night at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

A Mark Binguan floater at the heart of Basecom defense with two seconds left completed the JSY Transport comeback.

With Basecom still on top at the start of the fourth quarter, 63-46 , JSY Transport shifted to a 1-3-1 zone defense that neutralize the outside shooting of Basecom. Arnol Laureño, Chibon Uy and Mark Binguan presided the fourth quarter rally.

Basecom was still clinging to a 77-70 lead with three minutes left, but an 8-0 closing quarter allowed JSY Transport to steal the win.

Laureño paced JSY Transport with 26 points as Chibon Uy added 1 and pts., Daniel Chiu and Binguan knocked down 11 points apiece.

Jalandoon spearheaded Basecom with 25 points, and Michael Ang drilled 12 points for Basecom.

Meanwhile, JSY Countertrade dealt AACI Transport its first loss via extra time, 99-94.

Onjo Yap stepped up at the right time for Coutertrade as he scored 11 points in the overtime to complete the upset victory.

Counterade was led by the 21 points of Onjo Yap backstopped by Rosales' 20 points while Leo Bat-og bannered Transport with 25 points.*
