Anonymous tips urged
versus armed groups

The Commission on Elections will entertain tips on the presence of armed groups operating in Negros Occidental given by persons who wish to remain anonymous, Elections Provincial Supervisor Jessie Suarez said yesterday.

Anyone who has knowledge of armed groups in their areas is encouraged to report their presence directly to the Comelec, so the PNP and Army can be directed to conduct investigations, he said.

“We will entertain anonymous informants, and we will verify what they have to say,” Suarez said..moremoremore

Twenty-five Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries are appealing for help from the previous owner, the Arroyo family, led by former first gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo, and concerned government agencies in their effort to reclaim disputed lands in Hacienda Bacan, Barangay Guintubhan in Isabela town.

“We feel oppressed by the slain Fifth District Board Member Renato Malabor's wife Araceli,” an ARB who asked not to be identified, claimed.

He added that Mrs. Malabor will not return their lands unless they pay double for their debt of P150,000 to the late board member in double, the ARB added. moremoremore

listing of BPO destinations
BACOLOD IN 85TH SPOT: THOLONS

Dumaguete City, the capital of Negros Oriental, ranked number 93 in the world, and Bacolod City in Negros Occidental, is up by one notch, from 86 to 85, based on the 2016 Tholons List of Business Process Outsourcing destinations.

Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry president, Ed Du, said the Tholons 2016 Top 100 Outsourcing Destinations was released Jan. 29. He added that Dumaguete made one of the biggest leaps in a global scale, from above 100 previously to landing on the 93 rd spot this time.

Cebu City is up by one notch, from 8 th to 7 th , on the top 10, while Manila retains the 2 nd spot. .moremoremore
