BY CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO
About 3,000 volunteer members of the Kilusang Pagbabago re-affirmed their support to the Duterte administration and its programs during a solidarity rally at the Bacolod Public Plaza as the nation celebrated Bonifacio Day yesterday.
KP-Negros Island Region head Archie Baribar yesterday denied text messages circulating that they gathered KP supporters from the different parts of Negros and paid them to attend the activity.
Baribar said they used their own resourcesand they are not in the position to practice what traditional politicians would doto gather a crowd. They only spent for their sound system and streamers.
Bonifacio Day was marked in Bacolod City yesterday with numerous protests against the hero’s burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos andthe return to power of his family.
A mix of the sound of drums, a bugle, whistles and other noisemakers, along with the blaring of car horns and shouts of “Marcos not a hero” made up a lively noise barrage along Lacson Street, while three militant groups also staged separate anti-Marcos protests in other parts of the city.
A fifth anti-Marcos rally was also held in Escalante City in northern Negros Occidental.
