AA Electrical pulls off 66-58 OT win
vs. ESJ Residences in D-League caging

AA Electrical held off ESJ Residences in overtime, 66-58, to register a win in the 2016 D-League Basketball Tournament, Wednesday night at the STI-West Negros University gym.

In the other match, Asian Grains Corporation beat Nena's Market Place, 71-62.

Both AA Electrical and ESJ Residences played strong in the fourth quarter as regulation ended at 58-all.

It was a close game right from the start as Raymond Saavedra and Randell Uy kept the baskets coming for AA Electrial in the first quarter, while Richard Uy held the fort for ESJ. AA Electrical took the first quarter, 16-15.

Unable to shake off ESJ, AA Electrical maintained a slim margin in the second quarter, scoring 16 points against ESJ's 14 for a 32-29 lead at halftime.

The third quarter proved to be the turning point for AA Electrical as Francis Ramos anchored the team's 15-9 run against ESJ for a 47-38 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Not giving up easily, ESJ bounced back with 20 points in the final minutes to catch up with AA Electrical and force an extra time.

Despite the temporary shift in momentum, AA Electrical kept their composure as Randell Uy, Shaun Ferrer, and Nicole Medina combined their efforts to finally tame ESJ Residences.

Uy and Villasor led AA Electrical with 11 points each, while Ramos and Saavedra contributed 8 points apiece and Medina adding 6 points.

Kenderson Hao scored 11 points for ESJ Residences, Richard Uy hit 10 and Ralph Ong chipped in 8 points.

Meanwhile, Badong Eufre steered Asian Grains to another victory with 12 markers against Nena's. He got scoring support from Harry Chua, who delivered 10 points, while Jason Yap, Allen Sanchez and Jero Maculada added 9 points each and Christian Yu contributing 8 points.

Badong Perez led Nena's with 13 points while Archie Mijares hit 12 markers.*
