DAR awards 44 hectares in Cadiz

The Department of Agrarian Reform-Negros Occidental 1 awarded a 44-hectare property and P1,252,800 financial assistance to landless farmers in Barangay Luna, Cadiz City, last week.

Along with the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program land awarding, financial assistance was turned over under the Agricultural Production Credit Program which will cover the expenses for crop production and other support services from the department.

The department will further assist the community of farmers in capacity development in order to enrich and enhance their skills in managing the vast land awarded to them and for the implementation of agrarian reform and sustainable rural development in the countryside, OIC-PARPO Teresita Mabunay said.

The installation of farmers held on Aug. 12 was joined by DAR staff and municipal officers, the farmer-beneficiaries, and the legal team of Jose Maria Regalado, the former registered owner of the landholding.*KBC
