ABC-ENCLAVES CUP
Roasters' 94-92 win ousts Crown Agri
as CRIB beats Chicken Deli in overtime

Kenny Rogers - Black Samba edged Crown Agri, 94-92, after Bren Tajonera made the go-ahead basket with less than three seconds remaining in the ABC-ENCLAVES Cup at the Ayala Northpoint Thursday night.

The loss ruined Crown Agri’s chances of securing the last semifinal slot after being winless in all six matches, thus eliminating it with two games remaining as the Roasters posted its fourth win in five outings

Kenny Rogers took control of the first h alf but Crown Agri stormed back in the third quarter behind Boknoy Locsin’s 14 points to keep his team within striking distance.

Both teams traded baskets and neither team would lead by more than 4 points in the final quarter.

Tajonera launched a triple with 48 seconds remaining to put the Roasters up by 2 but Joshua Co responded immediately with a drive to the basket to tie the game.

The last possession belonged to Crown Agri in the final 20 seconds but Kenny Rogers intercepted an entry pass which set up Tajonera’s heroics.

Luigi Coo stood at Kenny Rogers in forefront with 23 points. Chac Mirano provided scoring support with 15, Tajonera and Reygin Oquiana finished with 11 each as Robby Jalandoon and Snook Versoza scored 10 apiece.
Errol Ledesma, Fredel Doromal, Macky Puentevella, Luigino Lacson and Gerard Benedicto combined for another 14 points.

Locsin paced Crown with 26 markers on six connections from the arc.

Co chipped in 18, Alexis Abong finished with 12 while Bourne Sioquim and Ralph Ong added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Paolo Avecilla made 9 and Dante Llorca rounded up the scoring with 6.

In the second game, CRIB Chicken and Ribs needed an extra 5 minutes to put away Chicken Deli 888 with a 101-90 overtime triumph.

Trailing by 10 points in the fourth quarter, Chicken Deli bounced back behind Willy Dasal, who led his team with 25 points.

Leading by 2 points, Chicken Deli fouled Brian Tajonera after a missed freethrow, sending him to the charity stripe for a chance to send the game to overtime.

After missing his first attempt,  he intentionally missed the second as Popoy Jamero grabbed the rebound and a putback to send the game into overtime at 88-all.

CRIB dominated in extra time, 13-2, behind Andy Tio’s 9 points on three-of-three shooting from the three-point line.
Popoy Jamero anchored his team with 24 points while Tio and Brod Hojilla finished with 22 and 19 points, respectively.

Jason Denosta added 9 and Juan Miguel Golez proved he is back to his old form with 8 points.

Gio Eusebio,  Bryan Javelosa, Alex Fernandez, Dominic Hojilla, Tajonera and Eric Jereza pooled in 19 points for CRIB’s third  straight win after three consecutive losses earlier.

Chicken Deli’s Arjay Jamero, on the other hand, added 21 points as Dante Ma finished with 15.
