Revocation of order
creating NIR feared


A worst-case scenario is now being entertained on the possible revocation of the executive order creating the Negros Island Region (NIR), that was signed by then President Benigno Aquino III May 29 last year, due to a problem on its budget.

This was also after the Department of Budget and Management did not include NIR budget in the 2017 proposed national budget.

SThe spate of extrajudicial killings in the Negros Island Region brought about by the massive anti-drug campaign of the police for a month now also caused a worry to Chief Supt. Conrado Capa, who is the NIR police director.
