Ceneco to fully restore
power in 3 cities today

Central Negros Electric Cooperative expects to fully restore power to the northern part of Bacolod City, Talisay City and Silay City today, Chuchie Destriza, Central Negros Electric Cooperative OIC general manager, said last night.

The power interruption has affected thousands of households under the CENECO coverage area, she said.

CENECO's Burgos feeder 3 and 4, covering Camingawan down to Alangilan, Talisay City up to Silay City had no power since 2:25 p.m. yesterday.moremoremore

Bomb scare hits Baciwa

Officials and employees of the Bacolod City Water District were alarmed when an unidentified male caller informed them at about noontime yesterday that there was a bomb inside the Baciwa building.

The call was received by customer service clerk Ma. Corazon De los Santos at about 11 a.m. from a person who had a Muslim accent, Joy Cañonero, Baciwa management information system analyst, said yesterday.

Cañonero said that, according to De los Santos, the caller told her "Salamalaykom. May bomba dyan. May bomba diyan. Sasabog diyan within 30 seconds. Umalis na kayo ng office" (There is a bomb there that will explode within 30 seconds. Leave the office). .moremoremore

Forest fire hits
Balinsasayao Twin Lakes

A forest fire hit the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park area in Sibulan town, Negros Oriental Thursday morning, and it was put out at about 4 p.m. yesterday.

Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management officer-in-charge, Adrian Sedillo, said he already contacted the Protected Area Management Board of the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes PAMB and other concern agencies, and sent a team to assess the situation.

The Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Farmers Association president, Rico Mier, earlier asked local government units to help them control the fire, considering the risk involved with the prolonged El Niño. .moremoremore
