Toby's to avenge loss
vs. RMM in D-League

Defending champion Toby's is looking to avenge their loss to RMM Encore in the elimination as both teams clash in the quarterfinals of the D-League Invitational Basketball Tournament at the STI-West Negros University gym.

At their previous match-up, RMM prevailed, 86-82, with Tawin Armas scoring a game-high 28 points, 19 in the second half, to spoil the well-balanced offense of Toby's.

After a 23-all deadlock in the first quarter, Toby's surged ahead in the second canto with Ren Ren Lacson and Allan Jaena combining for 18 points for a 49-37 Toby's lead at the half.

RMM bounced back in the third quarter with Armas delivering 9 points to cut the lead at 61-57 going into the final quarter.

An 18-point burst from the combined efforts of Tawin and Johnson Armas allowed RMM to get away with the win.

Johnson Armas finished with 12 points while Alex Lopez scored 10 for RMM while Marvin Tan led Toby's with 18 points.

In the other game, RCBM secured the No.7 spot despite 65-69 loss to No. 8 team Hardy.com/Shakey's.

Barlaj Sekhon and Badong Eufre delivered 16 points each to spearhead Hardy.com as Kokoy Pendon added 10 points while Jan Yap, Karlo Dimacais and Yu added 6 points each.

Bol Robello and Mark Cueva connected with 12 points each to lead RCMB as Alex Fernandez added 11 points while Chua and Michael Ang combined for 19 points.*
