Evaluation on for
PARCCOM nominees

Municipal Agrarian Reform Officers are gathering and evaluating nominees for eight slots in the Private Sectors election set on May 31 in Negros Occidental.

Thirteen new members of the Negros Occidental Provincial Agrarian Reform Coordinating Committee will be appointed and elected in accordance with the Provincial Agrarian Reform Council Executive Committee A.O. 01 Series of 1997, or the “New Implementing Guidelines Strengthening the Formation, Organization and Operation of the PARCCOM,” a press release from the Department of Agrarian Reform said.

One representative of a farmers' organization, agri-cooperative, non-government organization, land owners (principal and other crops), farmer/farm workers (principal and other crops), and cultural community or any group certified as having been nominated by concerned cultural communities, will compose the eight elected sectoral members.

The election of sectoral representatives by the Department of Agrarian Reform-Municipal Office level will be conducted in April, it said.

Meanwhile, the chairperson of PARCOMM will be appointed by the President of the Republic of the Philippines.

The ex-oficio members will be composed of the Provincial Agrarian Program Officer, Provincial Agriculture Officer who will represent the Agriculture Department, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer for DENR, the Land Bank of the Philippines to be represented by the LBP regional officer.*KBC
