Festival dances on
Panaad sa Negros Festival
Twenty-five local government units have confirmed participation in the Best of Festival dances competition, one of the highlights of the yearly celebration of Panaad sa Negros Festival.
The competition will be held on April 15, right after the opening program set at 4 p.m. at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City, a press release from the Capitol said.
The competition is open to all towns and cities of Negros Occidental, from which each LGU shall have one entry only. The participating groups will showcase their own festivals' concept and character.
Each performance is limited to five minutes; and will be judged according to choreography – 30 percent, performance – 30 percent, theme/concept – 20 percent, costume – 10 percent, music - 5 percent, and hand props – 5 percent, the press release said.
The champion will receive P75,000, with P60,000 for the first runner-up, P45,000 for the second runner-up, P30,000 – third runner-up, and P20,000 – fourth runner-up.
The participating entries include the Pabalhas sa Tablas of Candoni, Udyakan of Kabankalan City, Kisi-kisi Festival - Ilog, Manang Pula Festival - Manapla, Tinabu-ay Festival - Murcia, Babaylan Festival - Bago City, Pasundayag Festival - Valladolid, Salapan Festival - Pulupandan, Hugyaw Kansilay of Silay City, Pagbanaag of Hinobaan, Bulang-bulang - San Enrique, Minulu-an of Talisay City, Pasaway Festival - Sipalay City, Sinigayan of Sagay City, Bailes de Luces - La Castellana, Lubay-lubay Festival - Cauayan, Hinuptanan Festival - Moises Padilla, Dinagsa Festival - Cadiz City, Kadalag-an Festival - Victorias City, and Pasalamat Festival of La Carlota City, the press release added.*
