LopTTA paddlers win anew

The Lopue's Table Tennis Association team of Leonito "Diotay" Lopue captured the championship and 2nd runner-up honors in the high school girls and boys open team event of the 11 th Uni-Orient Cup and TATAND Inter-Scholastic Table Tennis League held March 19-20 at San Beda College in Manila, a press release from LopTTA said.

Lopue's high school girls' team composed of Ann Gella Borbon, Mariella Mabaquiao and Micah Tanate bested 23 other teams and defeated St. Martin Montesorri School-Manila, 3-0, in the championship to win the crown.

Borbon was awarded the MVP of the event with mentor Marell Lagunday named as Most Outstanding Coach, the press release said.

LopTTA high school boys' team composed of John Michael Castro, Neil John Lauren and Matthew Tolentino settled for the 2nd runner-up honors after losing in the semifinals against eventual champion De la Salle Zobel.

A total of 24 teams joined the high school boys' team event.*
