The president of the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association Inc. - Negros Chapter, yesterday thanked acting Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya in behalf of about 183,000 real property tax payers in the city for listening to their clamor and imposing the old real property tax rates.

Kenneth Tirthdas yesterday said they thank Gasataya “for doing what is just and proper under the law, and for considering the plight of the hundreds of property owners in Bacolod City, mostly regular wage earners, who have been gravely affected by the implementation of the new real property tax ordinance under City Ordinance No. 08-14-700.”

They consider it a Christmas gift to all stakeholders affected, he said during a press conference yesterday attended by Eduardo Suatengco Jr., president of the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Inc., Negros Occidental Chapter, Eduardo Alunan, national director of SHDA, and George Zulueta, executive director of Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry. moremoremore
