The Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan will probe reports of “job order” personnel occupying “sensitive positions” in some departments of the provincial government.
Board Member Miller Serondo, chairperson of the SP committee on Personnel, yesterday said that placing job order personnel in positions, that have accountability, should not be done.
Job order personnel are being hired on per project basis, and assigned in various Capitol departments, Serondo said.
On motion of Board Member Alain Gatuslao, the SP yesterday called for the appearance of the Human Resource chief of the provincial government for their regular session next week, to shed light on the matter.
In support to Serondo and Gatuslao, Board Member Rolando Ponsica also called for an audit of all job order personnel of the provincial government.
The SP also gave Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. authority to sign the contract of usufruct to be entered into by and between the province of Negros Occidental and the Maritime Industry Authority on the use the 2,000 square meters at the Pana-ad Park in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, for the construction of their regional office.
Gatuslao said the contract will cover a 50-year period.
It also authorized Gov. Marañon to sign the pro-forma contract of lease to be entered into by and between the provincial government of Negros Occidental and government offices relative to the lease of office spaces at the Negros First CyberCentre in Bacolod City.
Several regional offices of the Negros Island Region will be located at the CyberCentre.
Gatuslao said government offices will be given a 20 percent discount.* GPB
