MANILA -- Negros Occidental Football Association players proved their superiority anew over their counterparts from Iloilo when they outclassed them, 5-3, in the Western Visayas Classic held Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The Negros - Iloilo match, organized by the United Football League, preceded the All-Filipino vs. Rest Of the World game, which the foreign players won, 5-4.

San Carlos City native Gerardo Valmayor III keyed the Negros win with three markers, including the icebreaker on the seventh minute.

Former PFF head
Adad passes away

Former Philippine Football Federation president, Rene Zayco Adad, passed away Friday in Bacolod City at the age of 86.

A native of Kabankalan, Adad made his mark in Philippine football as member of the Asian Football Confederation. He was considered the pillar of the national Coke Go-For-Goal grassroots program that produced standout football athletes in the country.

A lawyer by profession, Adad had also served as deputy chairman of the AFC's legal committee.
