BCPO going on alert, too
BY SHIELA GELERA

The Bacolod City Police Office will be placed on heightened alert status for the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, Saturday and Sunday.

The 678 force of the BCPO will be deployed in 10 cemeteries in Bacolod, Senior Supt. Pedrito Escarilla, Bacolod Police officer-in-charge, said yesterday.

Police assistance centers, to be supervised by officers, will be set up in ports, terminals, cemeteries and memorial parks, Escarilla said, adding that the security plan for November 1 and 2, this year is all set.

He advised the public not to bring bladed weapons, firearms or illegal games paraphernalia when they visit cemeteries.

Visitors are also discouraged from bringing alcoholic liquors as this could cause violence at the cemetery.

People should be very vigilant and watch over their things while visiting the graves of deceased family members or friends, Escarilla said.*SGG
