Aquino: New Sagay bridge,
access road to boost economy
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said yesterday that he has invited President Benigno Aquino III to the inauguration of the Negros First CyberCentre in Bacolod City in July this year.

Marañon said Aquino, who was in San Carlos City yesterday for the inauguration of the country's first commercial scale solar plant, and a bridge and access road in Sagay City, has accepted the invitation.

Marañon also said he told the President that once the cyber center is fully operational, it will generate thousands of jobs, not only for Negrenses, but for residents of other provinces as well.

Although the inauguration of the cyber center is scheduled in July yet, Ubiquity, the first call center locator at the Negros First Cyber Center, is scheduled to move in at the end of this month.

Aside from the cyber center, the 45 classrooms donated by the Negros Occidental provincial government to the Negros Occidental High School in Bacolod is also almost finished, Marañon said.

However, the governor did not say whether the inauguration of the classrooms will be simultaneously held with that of the cybercentre.*APN
