A memorandum of agreement was signed yesterday for the creation of the Negros Oriental Provincial Inter-Agency Coordinating and Monitoring Committee as part of the Labor Day celebration, held at Robinsons Place in Dumaguete City.

The ICMC, created as a sub-committee of the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council, will be focused on the implementation of specific guidelines in the handling of labor disputes, Sandra Delfin, senior labor employment officer of the DOLE in Negros Oriental, said.

Delfin said the creation of the ICMC was pushed by the National Conciliation and Mediation Board as an offshoot of a labor dispute in Cebu recently, when concerned agencies and sectors apparently were not guided accordingly.
