Bacolod City pushed

An ordinance seeking to promote and strengthen the chances of Bacolod as choice destination for national and international Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions, was filed by Sangguniang Panlungsod Member Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, a press release from the city said.

The ordinance is co-authored by Councilor Sonya Verdeflor and Councilor Cal Lopez.

Sigue said MICE tourism can bring various benefits to the city, including a boost to the economy, short-term jobs and as a setting where both host and guests can engage ideas that will further entice progress and innovation, the press release said.

The proposed ordinance also states that Bacolod has the potential as a MICE industry location in the country, the press release added.*
