DOLE still waiting for list
of typhoon-hit WV areas

The Department of Labor and Employment in Western Visayas is still waiting for the list of areas badly hit by super typhoon Yolanda in the region to be covered by the six-month moratorium in the implementation of the P10 wage hike.

Labor Regional Director Ponciano Ligutom said they have asked the Office of Civil Defense and local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils for the list, but until yesterday, they have not received it.

Ligutom said the RTWPB will meet again today on the implication of the non-release to the badly-hit areas of super typhoon Yolanda by OCD and DRRMC.

DAR water supply program up

The Department of Agrarian Reform in Negros Occidental begun construction of the facilities for its Community-managed Potable Water Supply, sanitation and Hygiene project yesterday in Brgy. Baga-as, Hinigaran town.

Edna Villaruel, Agrarian Reform Officer 2, said they expect the project to be finished January 14 after which it will be turned over to the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries.

Villaruel said a wrap-up review session will also be held by DAR Provincial and national offices, with the officers of Brgy. Baga-as, Hinigaran town government officials, staff members of the Bureau of Agrarian Reform Beneficial Department from Manila and the ARBs.

Special recruitment
set in Silay

The Safe Future Manpower Agency, in coordination with the Silay City government, is looking for 200 domestic helpers, baby sitters and cooks to work in Kuwait, as part of the Special Recruitment Activity of Public Employment and Service Office of the city, its press release said.

Applicants must be female, 23-42 years old, single or married, first timer or formerly from abroad, with or without experience, elementary graduate or high school graduate or college level, can understand and speak English, and physically fit, the press release said.

Applicants must bring their birth certificates, marriage contracts (if married), baptismal certificate and two valid I.D.'s, during interviews on January 15 and 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Silay City Hall, the press release said.
