Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra installed Msgr. Louie Galbines as the new vicar general of the Diocese of Bacolod Sunday.
Galbines succeeded Msgr. Felix Pasquin, who resigned as vicar general due to health reasons.
“Desiring to fulfill in the highest degree my duties concerning the faithful committed to my care, and being unable to perform all those varied duties by myself, I have decided to elect you as an assistant to take part in my pastoral vigilance andsolitude,” Navarra told Galbines.
The vicar general has executive powers and performs administrative acts throughout the whole diocese, Navarra said.
Galbines finished his theological studies and Licentiate in Philosophy from the University of Sto. Tomas (Manila), and his Doctorate in Sacred Theology from Rome. He is presently the rector of Sacred Heart Seminary, and the chairman of the Commission on Clergy.
Galbines assumed his new office January 6.*CPG
