GMA stars attend
Multi-awarded actor, host and producer Dingdong Dantes with Kapuso star Max Collins and singer-actress Julie Ann San Jose took part in the celebration of the Panaad Festival yesterday at the Kapuso Night held at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
As an ambassador for the National Commission on Culture and Arts, Dantes said he is promoting film and TV, and wants to ensure that everything they do is socially relevant.
Dantes, who is taking up a BS Technology Management degree at West Negros University in Bacolod, said he expects to graduate this year, or by summer, depending on his schedule. He also plans to pursue a masters' degree later, he said.
He also said he always considers Bacolod as his second home since his mother is from Iloilo City.
After her stint in “Pahiram na Sandali” as Dante's lover, Collins will start her next project – an indie film titled “The Bamboo Flower”, that will be set in Bohol under director Maryo de los Reyes.
Collins said the movie is based on the lives of people who grew up in the provinces and shows how their situation in life affects their goal. It shows that even if one stays in his province, he can still flourish, she said, adding that she will play the role of a tourist in the movie.
San Jose, meanwhile, said she was overwhelmed that her self-titled debut album reached Triple Platinum status.
She said she also hopes to become an action star someday and to be able to do a movie with Robin Padilla.
Meanwhile, GMA TV Bacolod also facilitated a Kapuso Barangayan with free medical consultations at the Punta Taytay Gym and Health Center yesterday.
A regional audition for GMA Network's upcoming talent search titled “Anak Ko Yan” will be held at the Panaad Park tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Spicing up the Panaad week are “Indio's” Aljur Abrenica and “Kakambal ni Eliana's” Chynna Ortaleza, who will serve as guest singer and host for the Lin-ay sang Negros pageant night on Friday at the Panaad Stadium, a press release from the network said.
On Saturday, Tween stars Barbie Forteza and Derrick Monasterio will interact with Bacoleños through a Kapuso mall show at the SM City Bacolod's North Transport Hub at 4 p.m., it said.*CGS
