SU dean, lawyer ‘regret’
warrant versus Salonga
The College of Law and the Dr. Jovito R. Salonga Center for Law and Development of Silliman University yesterday expressed concern over the reported warrant of arrest served on former Senator Jovito Salonga, a press release from the school said.
Dean Mikhail Lee Maxino of the SU Law, and Myrish Cadapan-Antonio, director of the Salonga Center, said they deeply regretted the unfortunate turn of events involving Salonga, whom they described as an “icon of democracy” in the Philippines, the press release also said.
“Nothing can blemish Dr. Salonga’s personal character, national contribution, and living memory. The College and Center continue with pride to have Salonga as patron, and wish to extend to him and his family any and all legal aid and assistance in whatever way”, the press release said.
