Tanjay dads to consult
Officials of Tanjay City, Negros Oriental, will gather reactions and proposals from concerned sectors on the implementation of the mandatory helmet law on August 1.
Councilor Uldarico Mariano Ramirez III said the city government has yet to get the public pulse on the law that has become an issue between those for or against it.
Public sentiment in Tanjay tends towards the impracticality of wearing helmets around the city streets, he said, adding that many are raising questions over the “inconvenience” of having to put on their helmets on short drives, such as ferrying their children to school or going to the market.
