The longest visiting American basketball squad, Venture for Victory/Sports Ambassadors, stays unbeaten as the team visits different towns and cities in Negros Occidental.
Pastor Gary Visitacion, Sports Ambassadors Philippines national director, said the team has established a winning streak since the start of their campaign on June 10 at Punta Taytay, Barangay Sum-ag against a selection of local players.
After winning in Sum-ag, 95-78, the team travelled to Kabankalan City for a series of exhibition games, then went to Binalbagan to face the challenge of the local selection.
From Binalbagan, the visiting basketball squad played in Himamaylan City against the PNP Warrior at the Himamaylan public plaza.
Yesterday, the team played against the Barangay Ara-al basketball squad then against the Mayor Andrew Montelibano All Star Selection in Murcia.
Visitacion said the members of the team are enjoying the experience despite having to play two to three games everyday, and are happy to have come to the Philippines.
The Sports Ambassadors will have the final leg of their Negros this weekend in Bacolod City and will fly back to the US on June 19.
Leading the team is Dr. Robin Cook, SA International Director and head coach with Mark Nelsen 6’6, Graham Nelson 6’3, Quinn Prescott 6’1, Thomas Young 6’0, Dave Erickson 6’4, Joshua Peet 6’2, Nathan Trodahl 6’1, Rich Henderson 6’3 & Booby Quayle 6’8.
