Greenwatch Philippines, an environmental advocacy group has been bringing relevant information to both the local officials and the public regarding global warming, climate change and natural disasters in Negros Oriental.
The Community-based Low-cost Ecology-friendly Anti-water pollution Campaign in Negros Oriental proposes to introduce the approach as a model for local government units, and launch a Non-Government Organization-led advocacy effort to promote and introduce the model-concept among various coastal cities and urbanized municipalities in Negros Island.
As watchdog of our environment, Greenwatch spearheads and engages in information campaigns related to disaster preparedness, prevention risk reduction, management and rehabilitation, environmental and climate change issues.
In the past decades, environment interventions were focused on the protection of marine life, coral reefs, and mangrove management. However, not much had been done in addressing water pollution and waste management for a solution in our country.
The introduction of C.L.E.A.N aims to promote the adoption of low-cost community-based and integrated solid waste management for coastal towns and cities in the province.
The advocacy group should be supported by supplying it with relevant information on matters affecting governance and delivery of services posed by global warming, climate change and natural disasters.
The proposal for a better environment and clean water, and the increasing pollution of our coastal waters will be minimized and our plan for zero waste management garbage disposals will be in harmony with nature.*
