2 boys drown
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Two minors drowned in a river in Brgy. Balaring, Silay City, Wednesday, a police report said yesterday.

The victims, identified as Rommel Mulitin, 12, and his cousin, Michael Castellano, 10, were playing with a ball while reportedly using “salbabidas (lifesavers)”, at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, when they drowned.

The body of Mulitin was recovered by the Silay rescue group about three hours later, while that of Castellano’s was fished out from the river 15 minutes later.

The minors may have been unaware that they were already in the deep portion of the river when they drowned, the police report said.

The victims were pupils of the Balaring Elementary School in Silay City* GPB
