‘De la Paz not up
for transfer’

BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Bacolod City police director, Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, is not up for transfer to Camp Delgado in Iloilo City, Senior Supt. Manuel Felix, Police Regional Office-6 deputy director, said yesterday.

There is no vacant position at the Regional Command, all the posts are already occupied, which means that De la Paz will stay as BCPO chief, Felix said, belying rumors of a transfer.

Felix also said there is no need for De la Paz to be transferred because he is doing well in the campaigns against criminality, gambling and illegal drugs in Bacolod City.

However, if De la Paz wishes to be transferred to another region for a promotion, the PRO-6 will respect that, he said.

On Tuesday, Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office director, Senior Supt. Alan Guisihan, was transferred to PRO-6 to head the office of the directorial staff, which was vacated by Senior Supt. Wesley Barayuga, who was promoted to deputy director for Operations.

De la Paz said he has not received any order for him to leave his post and if there is any, he will abide by it. He said he will stay as BCPO director until January next year.

De la Paz also explained that the reason he was gone for three days was because he was in Camp Crame for an interview as he has been nominated in the search for outstanding senior police commissioned officer of the year.*APN
