2 ‘pushers’
arrested in buy-bust

BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

Two suspected drug pushers were nabbed by the police in separate buy-bust operations in the cities of Guihulngan and Dumaguete, in Negros Oriental, recently.

Intelligence operatives from the Dumaguete police, and personnel from the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group and the National Bureau of Investigation, arrested Walt Ibarra Gonzales, 29, at Luke Wright Street, Dumaguete, at about 5:30 p.m. on July 10, after he handed a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer.

Two transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu were also seized from Gonzales during his arrest, the police said.

Policemen and members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, meanwhile, arrested Jaime Sevilla “alias Sagor”, 32, of Poblacion Guihulngan, in a buy-bust operation in the city Monday.

A sachet containing suspected shabu and the 500 marked bill were recovered from Sevilla, a police report said.

Both suspects are now detained at the lockup cells of Dumaguete and Guihulngan police stations and charges are being readied for filing against them, the police added.*JFP
