MANILA – Stricter tax collections enabled the Bureau of Internal Revenue exceed its P75.4 billion collection goal for June 2012 by 7.88 percent after revenues for the month reached P81.34 billion.
Last month’s collection of the BIR is also higher by 21.58 percent or P14.44 billion against the P66.9 billion it registered in June 2011, the bureau said in a statement Thursday.
In particular, revenues of the Regional Offices continue to post double-digit growth allowing it to also surpass its P25.86-billion collection target.
The Regional Offices collected P28.09 billion in the sixth month this year, 25.58 percent or P5.72 billion higher than its P22.37 billion revenues same period in 2011.
It surpassed its collection goal by P8.63 percent or P2.23 billion.
Also, revenues by the Large Taxpayers Service exceeded by 6.37 percent its June 2012 goal of P47.79 billion.
This, after the Bureau’s LTS collected P50.83 billion last June, up by 20.26 percent or P8.56 billion than the P42.27 billion revenues same period last year.
In the first six months this year, the Bureau’s collection reached P521.15 billion, higher by 13.79 percent or P63.16 billion than the nearly P458 billion posted during same period in 2011. However, it was short of its P535.357-billion target for the first half of the year.
Its collection target is P1.066 trillion this year.*PNA
