Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia will be joined by 12 city mayors of Negros Occidental at his birthday tomorrow.
The mayors agreed to hold the League of Cities of the Philippines coordinating meeting tomorrow with their senior secretariat officers during Leonardia’s birthday, a press release from City Hall said.
The meeting was previously scheduled on July 12.
Leonardia’s family and senior staff organized a party for him. The birthday bash is normally attended by his family, city, barangay and government officials, business and civic leaders, friends and supporters, the press release said.
“I'm quite glad the 12 mayors and the LCP officers agreed to my request that they hold our coordination meeting on my birthday tomorrow. Their presence will surely add more color and prestige to my celebration," Leonardia said.
In their coordination meeting, the city mayors and LCP officers will talk about their role as hosts of the 50th LCP National Executive Board Meeting-Expanded that will be held in Bacolod from October 19 to 21, the culminating days of the internationally-known MassKara Festival in the City of Smiles, the press release said.
In their October meeting, they will hold dialogues with officials of the Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Interior and Local Government and the National Economic Development Authority.
Leonardia also invited US Ambassador Harry Thomas Jr. to be the guest of honor in the MassKara and to speak before the mayors who will be attending the NEB Meeting-Expanded, the press release added.*
