The Eskwelahan sa Kahanginan on Organic Agriculture will graduate 464 from its radio-class aired over DYVS (Sweet Voice of Salvation) and DYRL (Abyan Radyo) on Friday at the Bacolod Pavilion Hotel in Bacolod City.
Edna Garde, manager of the Farmers Information and Technology Services Center, and host of the radio program, said this is the first time the province and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist have created such a program on organic agriculture.
She said the learning is not limited only to their students but also to all the listeners of DYRL and DYVS. Top 8 Achievers, Top 5 Notebooks, and the Top 50 Students, will also be recognized, she said.
Top 8 Achievers are Ma. Gracia Roldan (94.76-Candoni), Rhoda Amparo (92.61-Bacolod), Samuelita Davido (91.70-Candoni), Glen Magturo (91.60-Candoni), Jose Raime Roldan (91.24-Candoni), Zyrell Paduhilao (90.66-Candoni), and Reynaldo Bedaure (90.40-Valladolid).
The Top 5 Notebooks will be given to students who have taken down effective notes during the lectures. They are Marlyn Belarmino of Silay City, Juana Jison of La Carlota City, Fred Genandoy of Victorias City, Felisa Mijares, and Pelobello Remedios both of Himamaylan City. The Commendable Application Award is given to outstanding student-listeners who have applied the techniques and practices imparted during the radio lectures.
Agricultural Training Institute Director Asterio Saliot will confer the honors on the graduates while Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Vice Gov. Genaro Alvarez will give the inspirational message and the word of challenge, while Department of Agriculture Regional Director Larry Nacionales and Board Member Miller Serondo, will give messages to the graduates. *LTG
