Chief Supt. Cipriano Querol assumed yesterday the command of the Special Action Force, an elite unit of the Philippine National Police Command, ending his almost two-year stint as regional police director of Western Visayas.
Meanwhile, the order to Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz as the new regional police director of Western Visayas also took effect yesterday, Senior Supt. Manuel Felix, PRO6 deputy regional director for Administration, said.
Felix said the PRO6 change of command is scheduled today at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City, and will be presided over by PNP Director Elpidio de Asis.
Querol replaced Police Director Catalino Cuy as SAF director, who is now assigned as chief of the PNP Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development, police records show.
The position of Police Community Relations Group chief vacated by Cruz was taken over by Chief Supt. Bernardo Florece Jr.
Senior Supt. Isagani Nerez assumed the position of PNP Secretary to Directorial Staff, that was vacated by Florece, police records also show.
Senior Supt. Renato Gumban, former provincial police director of Iloilo, has been designated as the successor of Florece in the newly-created PNP Anti-Kidnapping Unit.*GPB
