WV wage ruling
out on Monday

BY CARLA GOMEZ

Labor Regional Director Ponciano Ligutom yesterday said a recent decision of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity will be “sweet” for all sectors in the Western Visayas, but he will announce it on the eve of Labor Day.

He will make the much awaited announcement at a press conference in Iloilo City Monday evening, a day before Labor Day, he said.

The decision that was unanimously reached by the government, labor and management representatives does not address the interest of one or two sectors but the development of the whole region, he said, but refused to give details.

He said the RTWPB met yesterday morning to put “icing” on the decision.

It will be good for the workers of Western Visayas, he added.

The RTWPB reached a decision in response to a P97 daily wage hike sought by Trade Union of Filipino Workers.*CPG
