Three more members of the Ozamis-Dipolog-Parohinog organized crime group, main suspects in the robbery at the Central Negros Electric Cooperative in Bacolod City in March have been identified by the Bacolod City Police.
City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz named the suspects as Roberto Solis of Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Gaudencio Vardon Monopollo Jr., and Darvin Jay Tibon of Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental.
Earlier, the city police had identified their companions as Joel Remedios, “alias Yoyong” of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur, Richard Dagoman “alias Tangkad” of Tambulig, also in Zamboanga del Sur, and Ruel Alvarez of Tangub City, Misamis Occidental, Reynaldo Bacolod “alias Toto” of Las Piñas City, and Joseph Calarmo of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
Police intelligence reports showed that the group planned to rob a pawnshop in Bacolod City Wednesday but for reasons that were not disclosed did not push through.
On Monday, De la Paz revealed that the group is still in Bacolod and, in fact, intends to rob one of the big malls in the city and a bank after the Holy week, but failed because of police presence.
Businessmen expressed alarm over the presence of the group but De la Paz stressed that BCPO and the National Bureau of Investigation-Bacolod are doing their best to locate the group.
While they are not yet arrested, the BCPO will remain on heightened alert, De la Paz said.
He also said that the group is using a black Hilux pick-up vehicle and a red KIA Avila in their operation.
The Bacolod City Police is appealing to the public to report to the nearest police station immediately if they see suspicious looking personalities in the city.
De la Paz said they are also verifying if the two men arrested in Iloilo and suspected to be members of the Ozamis-Dipolog-Parohinog organized crime group were also involved in the CENECO robbery, where P3.6 million was taken.
He said they have sent pictures of the suspects in the CENECO heist to the Police Regional Office.*APN
