The number of fast food chains in Bacolod City is an indicator of the city’s fast economic growth, Mayor Evelio Leonardia said yesterday during the blessing of the newly-renovated Jollibee – La Salle store.
Citing the move of the franchisee, the Ponce family of Bacolod City, to expand the store and provide more amenities for their customers, Leonardia said this validates the city’s status as one of the top 10 growth centers in the country.
Constructed in 1994 as the second Jollibee store in Bacolod, the newly-renovated La Salle branch is the biggest in the Visayas-Mindanao region, Beng Huyong, Jollibee Foods Corp. Vice President for Visayas-Mindanao area said.
Representing the franchise owners, JunJun Ponce said the La Salle branch has been the most challenging, but with the team effort from the managers down to the crew, the store has been doing well for the past 17 years.
With the expansion of the store, he said they are bringing back the Kiddie Land, “for the new batch of children whose laughter will fill our walls”.
The store now also has al fresco dining for fathers to enjoy their coffee as they meet with colleagues or wait for their children, Ponce said.
“We have laid out our driveway for a more convenient parking and drive- through experience, and we have bigger tables for the groups of students,” he added.
For business meetings, the newly-renovated store has sectioned dining areas, while three party areas are also available for those who want bigger celebrations.
The blessing of the store was attended by the members of Filipino-Chinese families in Bacolod City and close friends of the franchise owners.*NAB
