The Gustilo Town Center and Northland Resort Hotel in Manapla town were inaugurated yesterday afternoon.
The inauguration was led by world-renown orthopedic surgeon and inventor Ramon Gustilo and his wife, Gloria, who were joined by Manapla Mayor Lourdes Escalante and engineer Rudy Gustilo in the cutting of the ribbon.
The Gustilo Town Center Complex is a 3-storey structure with commercial and office spaces, entertainment and sports facilities, and multi-purpose function rooms, Dr. Ramon Aguirre, president and chief operating officer of the Rabagus Group of Companies, said.


Regulation of
ammo sale sought
An ordinance setting the requirements in the sale of bullets and ammunitions of any caliber by gun stores or establishments in Bacolod City is being proposed by Councilor Archie Baribar, chairman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Human Rights.
The ordinance, titled “Regulation in the sale of bullets and ammunitions ordinance,” provides that all gun stores and similar establishments engaged in the sale of bullets and ammunitions, should require from purchasers their complete names, firearm license cards or permits to carry firearm outside of residence.
It also provides that if the purchaser is a member of a duly recognized security agency, a letter of authority from the general manager of the agency, aside from his ID, should be required.
