Villamonte dumps Candles
in K of C bowling tourney

Villamonte Council Team B emerged as champion in bracket A, as Mother Council 3348 took the title in bracket B of the 32nd Knights of Columbus Inter-Council Bowling Tournament at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

The bracket A winner won over the twice-to-beat Our Lady of Candles Charity led by Edgar Allan del Rosario, 584-549 and 522-516 to capture the tournament crown.

Before the final showdown, the Kid Leyes’ Villamonte B composed of Nerio Regollo, Boy Wingpo, Elmer Libo-on, Art Palo, Edgar De Leon, Joemil Villarosa and Fred Mapano defeated Candles Fraternity in the semi-final, 558-527 to earn the right to challenge the top seed.

Villamonte Council Team A settled for third runner-up.

In bracket B finals, the twice-to-beat Mother Council prevailed over the Mansilingan Council in the deciding contest, 536-523.

The members of the winning squad were Roming Dellomes, Daniel Corcelles, Nene Gonzales, Orly Guiljon, Boy Dioquino and Nonoy Piodos.

Mansilingan Council downed Mother Council in their first game encounter, 512-503, but the champion team bounced back in the knock-out match to seal the victory.

In the up-the-ladder system, Mansilingan defeated St. Anthony Abbot in the quarterfinal, 523-516, and followed it up with a win over Talisay Council in the semi-final, 541-529.

Our Lady of Candles Unity was the winner in the non-winning entries..

Meanwhile, the Sharp organized Suppliers Cup Open Trio and 7th Inter-School Alumni Cup will resume tonight with Silverado Amor of Roger Flores and ESD Electronz of Pat Mendoza taking the 1-2 punch of the 15-pack tournament in the Open category.*HLG
