Dads ok P80-M
for projects

BY RENE GENOVE

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan oF Negros Oriental has approved the appropriation of P80 million to fund Gov. Roel Degamo’s various projects in the province.

Board Member Dr. Liland Estacion said the board unanimously approved in a recent session the governor's request, most of which will go to the purchase of heavy equipment units for pre-disaster preparedness activities of the province.

The heavy equipment units that the governor plans to buy include a bulldozer, road roller, backhoe, grader, water tanker and a trailer.

The funds will be sourced from the 70 percent of the budgetary reserve of the province.

Republic Act 10121, enacted in May last year, authorized the use of calamity funds to finance various disaster preparedness activities.*RG
