Ex-Silliman
president’s wife dies

Pearl Gamboa Doromal, wife of former Silliman University president Dr. Quintin Doromal, peacefully passed away at her home at Ayala Alabang Village in Metro Manila, yesterday morning. She was 87.

She was a poet and book author, and was a member of the Concerned Women of the Philippines, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved God. She was also the daughter of the late Philippine Ambassador to the Court of St. James, Washington and to India, Melquiades Gamboa, and Tina Jensen Gamboa.

Her body lies in state at the Cosmopolitan Church at Taft Avenue Manila. She will be buried at the Manila Memorial Park on Saturday, her son, David Doromal, said.

She is survived by her children Quintin Jr., Norman, David, and Melanie Grace.*
