| Bacolod Rotary Club East induction
The induction ceremonies of the new officers of the Rotary Club of Bacolod East was a brilliant affair held recently at La Proa Ballroom of L’Fisher Hotel.
Black was the color of the night and the guests came dressed to the nines: the men in formal suits or Barong and the ladies in elegant cocktail dresses. There was an unmistakable excitement in the air with the presence of presidents of other Rotary Clubs like the Rotary Club of Marapara and Victorias. It was almost a family affair with Rotarian doctor, Dr. Tony Sarabia, father of Vice President Mark Sarabia and Rotarian Lorio Aguilar, father of president Mike Aguilar and their families who came in full force.
Seven new members were inducted by Councilor Sonia Verdeflor: Joy Barbasa, Dr. Benjamin Souribio, Billy Togle, Jose Lizael Lampines and Ma. Lorena Martinez. The new officers led by Mike Aguilar, were sworn in by Rep. Anthony Golez, a member of Rotary Club East, himself. The guest speaker Harry Tan Jr. of PMFTC is such a gracious gentleman. It was his first time to attend a Rotary Induction and his first time to see the famous “MassKara Dancers” of Bacolod. He came with one of his co-executives, Roly Corona. Highlight of the affair was Joanne Visitacion’s vocal rendition of “Chiquitita” followed by a raffle draw which had the audience laughing over the funny gift surprises.*
